ALFRED AKIBO-BETTS is a Chartered Accountant and a Fellow of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants of the United Kingdom and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sierra Leone.  He holds a Honours Degree in Accounting and Finance from Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone and a Master’s Degree in Taxation from the University of Pretoria in South Africa.

Alfred has considerable experience in the tax field as has worked at the National Revenue Authority for over fourteen (14) years, where he is now a Deputy Commissioner. Most notably, he was the focal person for the introduction of the Goods and Services Tax in Sierra Leone in which time he gained skills in public relations and public speaking; negotiation and project management.

Although Alfred has worked most of his professional life in the public sector, he believes in Sierra Leonean entrepreneurship and this has led him to partner with other Sierra Leoneans to form businesses in the real estate, energy, infrastructure, information technology and education sectors. Alfred is one of the Founders of the Freetown Business School.

Alfred is happily married to Binta and they have two beautiful children, Gisele and Baby Alfred.
